Ishita Mehta – A Valuable Contributor to HEADS (Human Environment and Device Saviors)

Ishita Mehta, a dedicated and visionary master’s degree student, has been a pillar of strength and innovation for HEADS – Human Environment and Device Saviors. Her deep commitment to radiation safety and public health brought meaningful impact to the goals and mission of HEADS.

With a strong academic foundation and a scientific temperament, Ishita focused her research on mobile radiation and its effects on human health, particularly by studying Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) values across different mobile devices. Through careful data collection, analysis, and interpretation, she built a robust knowledge base that informed both academic discussions and real-world safety practices.

Her work was not limited to theory. Ishita played a crucial role in the revival of HEADS’ initiatives, offering practical, science-backed solutions to reduce radiation exposure. One of her notable contributions was the design and development of a protective mesh cage—ingeniously crafted in the form of a purse—that effectively shielded users from high radiation levels emitted by mobile phones. She also developed a mesh structure that could be used in household and workplace environments to reduce electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure, especially in high-usage zones.

Beyond technical contributions, Ishita also helped spread awareness about radiation safety by engaging in workshops, writing educational content, and collaborating with the HEADS team to develop outreach materials aimed at informing the public about safe mobile practices.

Through her consistent efforts, Ishita brought new energy and direction to HEADS, aligning its objectives with emerging environmental and health challenges. Her proactive spirit, innovative mindset, and scientific contributions have left a lasting legacy, helping HEADS reestablish itself as a credible and responsive platform.

Her work serves as a powerful example of how youth-led science and community engagement can come together to protect both people and the planet.
